The mission of this online workshop is to provide both evidenced-based and experienced-based education and support for moms in the area of nutrition. This webinar will help you understand what food, drinks and herbs best for them through every stage of maternity, based on your diet and lifestyle preferences.
We seek to educate families how they can nourish their bodies with food that is accessible, affordable and culturally appropriate to improve overall health outcomes throughout their prenatal and postpartum journey.
This webinar will have a live Q&A portion, so please come ready with any questions you may have for the Nutritionist and the Doula!

About Ashley
Ashley’s passion for wellness at a young age having both parents with type 2 diabetes and watching them try to manage their disease by making lifestyle changes. Originally from Miami, she noticed how her environment impacted her ability to achieve optimal wellness. For the past 10 years, she has been a Nutrition Educator, originally advising her peers in college as a certified peer health educator, and 10 years in the maternal and child health field with the department of health. Ashley earned her Science degree from Florida State University in Dietetics with a minor in religion and her masters in Dietetics with a concentration in Health Informatics from University of North Florida. She is in process of obtain her certified lactation counselor certification. Ashley is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and believes the way we eat is highly influenced by our families, culture, access to foods, and our beliefs or religion. Ashley likes to practice holistic health and tries to incorporate mental, physical, and nutrition into her interventions.
Ashley is one of three friends that came together and wanted to change the perception of a healthy meal by putting a focus on culture. In February 2017 EatWell Exchange was born and since then, they have taught over 18,000 people. They provide nutrition education, gardening classes and culinary programs to prevent negative health outcomes while highlighting cultural foods.
About Nicky Dawkins
Nicky Dawkins is a Holistic Reproductive Health Doula and Activist based in Miami, FL. She is the founder of Werk it Moms, a mom-driven organization that focuses on providing educational workshops, community events, and a safe space for mompreneurs and working mothers. In addition to this work, she is the founder of PeriodMiami and is the current National Community Manager at PERIOD, Inc. She has also served as Vice Chair of the Miami Diaper Bank board since 2018.
Nicky works with birthing people from fertility to postpartum and everything in between. Her passion is to help birthing people have a healthy period, pregnancy, and birth experience with as little intervention as possible. Nicky also works heavily in advocacy within the reproductive health and justice space.
